IHE Connectathon 2008 in Oxford, UK This year the IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) initiative carried out the 8th European IHE Connectathon on the 7th to the 11th of April 2008. The event was hosted by the British IHE work group at St. Catherine's College, Oxford. The Connectathon (a term combining connection and marathon) is an annual event of the IHE initiative, inviting healthcare IT companies to attend with the aim of reaching the highest level of interoperability between IT systems, through a systematic use of standards like HL7 and DICOM. medavis also attended the Connectathon again this year, contributing its wide product and interface portfolio and confidently passing all tests.
medavis DICOM Importer Pro – IRWF-Profil The latest version 2.0 of medavis DICOM Importer Pro was successfully tested as an importer or portable media importer in the IRWF (Import Reconciliation Workflow) profile. The requirements for a successful test were the ability to import CDs as well as the customising of patient data from medavis RIS. medavis DICOM Importer Pro – PDQ-Profil The new medavis DICOM Importer Pro feature "HL7-Request" was successfully tested in the PDQ (Patient Demographics Query) profile and now enables the IHE compliant request to a HL7 data source like a HIS in order to interactively acquire patient data. medavis RIS – PDQ-Profil medavis RIS demonstrated its interoperability once again and proved, under laboratory conditions, its ability to transfer patient and episode data in the PDQ profile as a Patient Demographics Supplier. This innovation enables patient and episode data to be requested from medavis RIS via HL7 and made available to subsystems such as laboratory systems.
