Overview of the medavis FAX Server

With the medavis FAX server, you can send faxes directly from medavis RIS. The module is completely integrated in medavis RIS. You can send faxes from every workstation at the push of a button. A central modem is used for sending the faxes.

The medavis FAX Server offers you the following functionalities:

• Automatic identification of the recipient's fax number

  The recipient's fax number is automatically determined from the respective address details. It is therefore important that you always enter the fax number when you enter addresses for those groups you want to send faxes to.
  Of course you can send faxes in the Fax menu or enter the fax number yourself.

   

• Sending reports automatically by FAX

  Faxes can be sent with different priorities. This is particularly important for you if you send out a lot of faxes. If you assign a fax a higher priority, it is moved up the send list and sent earlier.

   

• Information on the FAX status per RIS Mail

  If you want, RIS Mail can inform you of the FAX status. There are three ways of doing this: You can receive a corresponding mail notification, if a send attempt has been made, if sending the fax has failed or if it has succeeded. Of course you can decide on several options.

   

• Add a signature as graphics file

  If you don't want to send your faxes without them being signed, you can scan your signature and save this as a graphics file. In your User Settings you can then define that your signature is added to all the faxes you send.
  The graphic formats bmp, gif, tif and wmf are supported at present.

   

• Embedding Overlay Graphics

  With the medavis FAX server, you can add overlay graphics to your faxes. This means that you write your fax as normal with the RIS word processor. When you send the fax you can then specify whether, and if yes, which overlay graphics you want to embed in the FAX. The text and the graphics are then copied on top of each other so to speak by the medavis FAX server when the fax is sent.
  This functionality should be particularly interesting for you if you usually send your documents and reports on letter paper with printed letterhead.

   

• Defining the send time

  If you want to send your faxes all in one go at night to save costs, the medavis FAX server offers you the option of specifying a time in your User Settings when your faxes should be sent. You can also define the time when individual faxes should be sent.

   

• Informative Send Protocol

  You can call up the FAX send protocol that includes all the faxes you have sent from RIS at any time. The send protocol not only tells you when a specific fax was sent, but you can also use the protocol for resending faxes or for forwarding to another recipient.
  You can also view the faxes you have sent in the text-processing program.
