Integration Into Your medavis RIS
The new Tariff System for the Remuneration of Outpatient Medical Services adopted by the Federal Council on April 30, 2025, will bring about extensive changes. medavis’ aim is to support you in mapping the new tariffs in your RIS and implementing the changed requirements to your workflows in an efficient manner.
While you are eager to configure your system as soon as possible in order to start test billing and adapt organizational processes early on, we are still faced with challenges. The specifications provided to us are incomplete, and critical software components are being delivered with delays, which in turn impacts the programming process.
Our Plan: A Step-By-Step Approach
We’re committed to aiding you in configuring your RIS system step by step, reviewing it carefully, and providing your employees with tailored trainings. Each step is accompanied by detailed documentation to facilitate implementation for you as much as possible.
Your Preparations
Step 1: Assigning the CPTMA/EPTMA Fee Codes to Examinations
A new FS assignment of the CPTMA/EPTMA fee codes to the respective examinations is required for the introduction of the new tariff system
- The assignment is carried out via an Excel list (“export of examinations”)
- You can find instructions on how to correctly enter the CTMA/EPTMA fee codes in the Release Notes 5.53 and the Change Notes 5.57
- To ensure that you are optimally prepared, you can import an ICD catalog and configure the RIS master data to use existing automatisms for coding (see chapters “Linking Text Modules with ICD Codes,” “Linking Examinations to ICD Codes,” and “ICD*>Importing the ICD Catalog” in the RIS master data manual). RIS version 5.53 or higher is required for this action. The specific catalogs can be found online for CH-DE, CH-FR and CH-IT
Adjustments in RIS
Step 2: Configuring Your Master Data – RIS Release 1
- Import the CPTMA/EPTMA fee codes
as outlined in the current release notes - FS assignment with the Excel importer
using the Excel list provided and revised by you in step 1 - Update the master data in other areas such as materials
using an additional system function for simplified assignment of fee codes - Adjustment of the cost carrier logic in RIS
including mapping of the tax point values with preparation of the changes through the external factor

Step 3: Automated Generation of Fee Codes & Billing – RIS Release 2
- Additional features for master data configuration regarding material creation and query forms, assignment of codes to text modules, etc.
- New dialogs for time-based service recording, optimized for TARDOC billing
- Billing of a case in RIS with automatic generation of billable fee codes
→ Determination of outpatient flat rates through diagnosis (ICD code), service code, age and gender via integrated call of OAAT’s/OTMA’s tariff matcher
→ Calculation of TARDOC fee codes (individual services) by using the extended set of rules for TARDOC in RIS - Billing in hospital settings / HIS integration
CPTMA/EPTMA fee codes and ICD codes are transmitted to HIS via HL7 DFT interface

Billing in accordance with the new service tariff andHL7 export of the service data to HIS, extended master data configuration
Step 4: Invoice Export via MediData Connection & Caisse des Médecins / Cassa dei Medici REST-API – Billing Exporter 4.4
- Creation of invoice data in the new XML 5.0 format in accordance with the specifications defined by the Forum Datenaustausch
- Adjustments in the Billing Exporter (BEX) for the processing of data in XML 5.0 format
→ Export of the XML 5.0 files
→ Import of feedback from external billing systems - The Billing Exporter (BEX) supports the new REST-API of the Caisse des Médecins/Cassa dei Medici, which will be introduced in the course of the tariff changeover
Export to MediData according to the current specification – automated and without media discontinuity
Step 5: New Workflow Features – RIS Release 3
- Updated invoice templates
including a QR code payment sheet in accordance with the specifications defined by the Forum Datenaustausch (subject to timely approval of specifications)

Invoicing within the RIS including printing of invoices and refund receipts
